Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, encompasses all aesthetic changes related to the eyelids. In oculoplastic surgery, eyelid aesthetics is one of the most popular surgical specialties.

Upper Eyelids: Excess skin on the upper eyelid, weaknesses in the muscles and connective tissues beneath the skin, herniations or depressions in the fat tissue, and sagging of the lacrimal gland can all be addressed with blepharoplasty procedures.

Lower Eyelids: Sagging due to tissue laxity, under-eye bagging, excess skin, depressions between the eyelid and cheek, and weakening of the ligaments in the lower eyelid can be corrected with blepharoplasty procedures.
Preoperative Considerations for Eyelid Aesthetics
• Aspirin and antibiotics should be discontinued at least 15 days before the procedure due to the increased risk of bleeding during surgery.
• Smoking and the use of other tobacco products should be halted 2-3 weeks before the procedure to avoid slowing down the healing process.
• Herbal supplements should not be used during this period, as they may yield undesirable results.
Postoperative Care for Eyelid Aesthetics
The eyelids are a delicate area, and post-surgery, they may easily widen. Therefore, it is recommended to stay calm and avoid stress during the first week after eyelid aesthetic surgery. Hospitalization is not required after the procedure. After the surgery, the patient is allowed to rest, and thin bandages are applied to the eyelids.
